The role
We are looking to expand our team with an Engineering Manager that is eager to learn and wants to join a fast-growing company. As an engineering manager, you will work closely with your team of developers, product managers and clients to enable efficient product delivery, whilst balancing the needs of technical improvements to ensure high software quality. You’ll mainly be working with Ruby, Java and JavaScript, using Rails and React, Spring Boot with Postgres and Redis providing support. Also, you’ll develop using Docker and deploy onto Kubernetes.
What you’ll be doing
- Advocate and advance our agile and engineering practices
- Develop individuals and the engineering team as a whole
- Propose project and programme budgets
- Hire and supervise staff
- Propose new tools and continuously improve processes
- Coordinate work with other managers and staff
- Prepare reports on projects
- Ensure the top quality delivery from the engineering team
Who you are
- You are passionate to build engineers and engineering culture
- You are a leader with team building, mentoring, and decision-making skills
- You have strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- You are agile. Your experience helps drive the team to further innovate
- You can unify different teams together, leading towards a common goal - globally across locations and time zones.
- You have excellent spoken and written English communication skills
- You have the ability to work on multiple projects in various stages, simultaneously
- You have a strong background in software development or IT related roles
- You have a minimum of 2 years experience in a people management role
